ZOTEYE (b. 1977) is a non-binary visual artist based in Berlin, working primarily with analog photography while exploring the intersections of identity, memory, and technology. Their practice blends over 25 years of experience behind the camera with a deep commitment to questioning systems of control — borders, gender binaries, and the commodification of human connection. Influenced by artists like Man Ray, Helmut Newton, and Robert Mapplethorpe, ZOTEYE’s images are both fragile and defiant, often navigating themes of intimacy, transformation, and resistance. They see photography as time-travel: each frame carries echoes of the past and foreshadows of the future, becoming both archive and prophecy. Beyond the lens, ZOTEYE is active in Web3, minting work on the blockchain and building spaces where artists can reclaim ownership of their creations. Their projects — from NFTs to zines, workshops, and VJ experiments — reflect a consistent drive to merge art with activism and to remain radically borderless. ZOTEYE’s work has been exhibited in galleries and on public billboards across Belgium and Germany, with recent collaborations including ArtCrush Gallery and Clear Channel. They continue to expand their practice internationally, committed to making art that reveals unseen energies and invites viewers to see — and be seen — in new ways.
