My artistic journey began with a deep connection to traditional materials and handmade processes. I studied visual art at the Government College of Art & Craft in Kolkata, where I completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, specializing in ceramic art and pottery. Working with clay taught me patience, discipline, and sensitivity to form and texture. The tactile relationship between the hand and material became the foundation of my artistic understanding. In the early years of my career, my practice focused on ceramics and craft-based work. Over time, however, my interests expanded toward painting and abstraction. Through color, gesture, and layered surfaces, I began exploring ways to express emotions, inner transformation, and the subtle connections between nature and human experience. These explorations gradually opened new possibilities for experimentation beyond traditional mediums. As digital technology increasingly influenced contemporary culture, I became curious about how digital tools could extend rather than replace handmade artistic processes. This curiosity led me toward a hybrid approach to art-making that combines physical and digital methods. Many of my works begin with a physical starting point such as painting, drawing, or photography. These initial gestures provide the organic structure and emotional energy of the piece. The work then evolves through digital processes including layering, color modulation, symmetry, and structural experimentation. Each stage of transformation adds another dimension to the image, allowing it to move between physical and digital spaces. In this way, digital tools function not as substitutes for traditional art but as extensions of the creative hand. Today my practice exists in this intersection between hand and digital process. Through abstraction, layered structures, and vibrant visual environments, I seek to create artworks that reflect the complexity of contemporary life—where physical and virtual experiences constantly overlap and influence one another.
